Albert Douglas Newman

Deacon Albert Douglas Newman passed away on June 6, 2017.  He was born to the late Douglas Newman and Dollie March Newman in Henderson, Texas.

He attended the public schools of Childress, Texas.  Early in his adult life, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ.  He later rededicated his life to Christ during a revival of Elder Washington from Corsicana, Texas under the leadership of the late Elder Carter V. Smith.  This revival was held at Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ where he became a dedicated member and served faithfully as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent until his health declined and he became hospitalized.

He joined the United States Army on December 30, 1943.  Deacon Newman served during World War II.  He worked in supply and was a Private.
