Artie B. Brooks, 76, of Amarillo died Monday, March 30, 2015.
Memorial services were held at North Heights Church of Christ, with Bro. Myron Sims officiating with Bro. Mariland Sims as eulogist. Burial was in Huff Creek Cemetery in Jasper. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Artie B. Brooks was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Newton County to Gussie Adams and Fletcher Farr.
She attended Jasper High School in Jasper, Texas. She married James R. Brooks in 1955; of this union 5 children were born. They moved to Amarillo, Texas in1966.
Artie B. was a homemaker, care taker for many. She loved delivering meals to many in the community. She loved gardening and baking. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved taking pictures of friends and family. She became a member of North Heights Church of Christ in Amarillo in 1971 of which she attended faithfully until she became ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Willie Mac Farr.
To cherish her memory includes four sons, James Brooks of Jasper, Texas, Robert Brooks of Amarillo, Larry Brooks of Fayetteville, Ark., and Kenneth Brooks of Amarillo; a daughter, Michelle Brooks of Amarillo; two adoptive children, Joseph Pollard of Amarillo and Sharon Parker of Memphis, Tenn.; a beloved cousin, Betty Gatson 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
