Avis Bonita (Jones) Roberts

Avis Bonita Jones Roberts, 63, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Avis was born on June 4, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas to Tommie and Mary L. Jones.  She attended North Heights Elementary School, Carver Junior High School and graduated from Palo Duro High School.  She attended Amarillo College where she earned an Associate Degree.  She was a CNA and a Heart Monitoring Tech.  Her employers included ASARCO, Bivins Nursing Care and other Health Care Facilities.  She loved working with people in the health industry.  Her favorite pass time was singing.  Avis served in the Church Choir, Sunday School and the Youth Department at Carter Chapel C. M. E. Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Michael Roberts of Amarillo, Texas, two daughters, Kylia (Robert) Clampitt of Amarillo, Texas and Belinda (Gary) Chambers of North Richland Hills, Texas, two brothers, Tommy Clarence (Eugenia Walls) Jones of Seattle, Washington and Charles (Glenda) Venters of Dallas, Texas, six sisters, Wanda Jones, Mary C. Jones, Belinda Jones Ray, Brenda Jo Jones and Diane Jones all of Amarillo, Texas and Mary Nell Payne of Washington, D. C., three grandchildren and several nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
