Camille "Mariah" Hortense (Butler) Butler

February 17, 1965 — August 7, 2021

Camille ‘Mariah” Hortense Butler, 65, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Dumas, Texas.

She was born in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.  She was the fourth child born, to Dr. William Henry, Jr., and the third child born to Anne Hortense Clark Butler.  Her older sister was her closest confidant from day one.

She graduated from Stag High School and attended Delta College in Stockton, California.  She worked for top law firms in California as a legal secretary for many years.

A passion for dance, piano, and singing was instilled in her at an early age.  She danced with Dance Theater of Harlem and Dance for Joy.  For over 30 years she performed at numerous venues in New York and Los Angeles including Hollywood Presbyterian.  Camille was raised with the knowledge of God, but her relationship with God began in adulthood.  She was a spiritual mother, teacher, and guide to her family and friends.  She will continue to be the same in Heaven as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Shirley Marie Butler, and a brother, William Henry Butler, III.

Ms. Butler leaves to cherish his memories, four siblings, Charmaine Butler, Rodnick Butler, Radonna Butler, and Ralana Butler, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
