Delaware Arthur Jones, 56, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015.
Services were held at Johnson Chapel AME Church, with the Rev. Phillip Randle officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Delaware worked in the family business of Jones and Sons Trucking, founded by his late father, Eddie Lee Jones Sr., in 1950. He was loved and will be missed by all. The family would like to thank everyone for all their prayers, flowers, kind words and support.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Jones; three stepchildren of Fort Worth; a son, Daimon Jones and wife Celeste; a daughter, Chandra Jones; four grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Vickers of Dallas, Rosalind Perkins and husband Carey of Midland and Tommie Hamilton and husband Roushell Sr. of Amarillo; and seven brothers, Eddie L. Jones Jr. and Thomas Jones and wife Carolyn, all of Dallas, Anthony “Phil” Jones and wife Cleda of Detroit, and Lee Artist Jones and wife Renee, Steven Jones and wife Donna, David Jones and wife Laneshia and Michael Jones and wife Karen, all of Amarillo.
