Demetress Wilson

Demetress Lashun Wilson, 42 of Amarillo, was called home by the Lord on the peaceful Monday October 31.

Demetress Lashun Wilson was born April 11, 1974 to Sharon Chance and Jessie L. Washington. Demetress was a FIGHTER her entire life starting at birth weighing in at 3 remarkable pounds. None the less, her encouraging spirits where outweighed against the living odds, and she inherited her catchy-renowned nickname “Dick”.

Demetress was known to be rowdy, and at her best was most inspiring. Her heart lifted broken sprits with simple conversations, card games, and sessions at the bingo hall. She was competitive in any game. Her outrageous personality rubbed off on others which increased competition. She earned respect and love from everyone around her. Her laughter and jokes were contagious. Her taste in clothes, hair styles, and nails were nothing short of flawless. Demetress lived every moment as if it were her last. She gracefully gained her wings, leaving behind the greatest of memories in the hearts of all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father Jessie L Washington, Grandmother Earnest Lee Wilson, Great grandmother Lucille Odie, and her beloved nephews Greg and Maxwell Wilson. She will be missed dearly by many.

Demetress is survived by her mother; one daughter, Lashawn Wilson; a grandson, Zaydon Johnson; a granddaughter Ayavna Johnson both of Amarillo, TX; four sisters, Teandra Wilson, Laquanna Meander and Betty Wilson all of Amarillo, TX; Cartissa Wilson of Dallas, TX; five brothers, Terrance Meander, Marcus Taylor, and Joseph Harris all of Amarillo, TX; Vincent Barnes of Hereford,TX; Brandon Anderson of Dallas, TX.
