Eddie Dansby

Mr. Eddie Dansby, Sr., 81, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Eddie was born in Roby, Fisher County, Texas to Sam and Loraine Jones Dansby.

Eddie was employed by Clark Roofing Company for fifteen years and retired as a roofer.  He loved to work.  When he was not working on roofs, he was working in his yard or doing something outdoors.  Also, he enjoyed playing bingo which was his place of “vacation” since he could not travel.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  People in the community knew him as “Uncle Eddie.”  Whether they were blood-related or not, his legacy will live on through his wife, children, and everyone he encountered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Ananise Dixon, Viola Johnson, Annie Mae Walker, and Georgia F. Jones, and two brothers, Walter Dixon, Thomas Dansby, and a granddaughter, Nia Rose Miller.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Beverly, two daughters, Tamesha Rochelle Denson and Deana Louise (Patrick) Miller, and a son, Eddie (Leisha) Dansby, Jr., four sisters, Louise Gamble, Bernice Dixon, Annie Mae Walker, and Rose Marie Taylor, a brother, Sammie Dansby, Jr., five grandchildren, Tristan Denson, Imani Denson, Eddie Dansby, III, Elijah Dansby, and Emmarie Dansby, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
