George Allen

George Allen, 89, of Amarillo died Monday, May 30, 2016.
Services were at Johnson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Phillip Randle, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
George Allen was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Shuqualak, Miss., where he attended public school.
He married Dorothy Halsey Collins in 1957. He was a veteran, who served in the Marine Corps and retired from the Air Force in 1972.
Survivors include a sister, Inez Johnson of memphis, Tenn.’ a stepson, William “Bill” Collins of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Keith Collins of Garland and Kirk Collins and Kami Collins, both of Amarillo; and a nephew, Larry White of Memphis, Tenn.
