Jean Arthur Washington, 91, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas.
She was born in Blossom, Lamar County, Texas, and was the beloved daughter of Frank Johnson and Catherine Hodge Reasonover.
In 1958, Jean united in marriage with George Wesley Washington, the love of her life. Together, they built a home grounded in faith, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to family.
Jean devoted 30 years of dedicated service to Northwest Texas Healthcare System, where she was respected for her strong work ethic, leadership, and kindness. She retired as Housekeeping Supervisor, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and compassion. Jean found her greatest joy in the presence of her family, cherishing every moment spent with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Frank Washington, George Washington, and Tommy Moore, her five daughters, Sandra Flower, Deanna Baker, Deborah Bailey, Dorothy Hunt, and Katherine Bibles, 25 grandchildren, 33 great‑grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends who will continue to honor her memory and carry forward the love she so generously shared.
