Jeffery Theron Dailey Jr.

December 26, 1993 — October 15, 2025

Amarillo, Texas

Shalom,

The world lost a bright light on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, and Jeffery Theron Dailey, Jr. (J. T.), affectionately known as “JDuce” gained his wings.

J. T. was born in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, on December 26, 1993, to Jeffery Theron Dailey, Sr., and Maria Jimenez-Carr. J. T. was a proud graduate of Palo Duro High School, Class of 2012. He participated in the orchestra playing the violin from elementary school to his senior year. He was an outstanding student and competitive athlete participating in wrestling, football, and track (hurdles and discus throw), known as Aquabacca. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) as a high school student.

In furthering his education, J. T. attended Amarillo College, Tarrant County College in the Dallas, Texas area, and Houston Community College. While in Dallas, J. T. worked for AT&T, and when returning to Amarillo, he worked for Tyson Foods. In 2014, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, earning the rank of Lance Corporal. After serving in the Corps, J. T. worked for the Texas Department of Corrections before embarking on a career in his family’s business at Class-1 Barbeque, LLC., where he was trained by his bonus Pops and became a Texas Monthly recognized Pitmaster. J. T. was a member of St. John Baptist Church and served as a Funeral Service Assistant at Warford-Overstreet Mortuary.

A devoted family man, J. T. married Jada Mary-Lanae Bond in 2014, and together they had his greatest pride and joy, their cherished children, Aniah McCampbell, Emmalyn (Mari) Dailey, Eli’Sha (ShaSha) Dailey, and Jeffery (JTre) Dailey, III. His unwavering dedication to his family and friends was a hallmark of his life.

J. T. loved being a daddy and spending time with his babies. He was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering them on every season. His comradery and friendships with others were priceless to him, always flashing his contagious smile and sharing the Word to anyone who crossed his path. He was a joyful giver, a loving encourager, and a faithful friend to everyone. J. T. was a kid in a candy store when he shopped in Rock’em Western Wear store in Houston, Texas. He was always the life of the party, dancing in his boots and hat to all music, especially Tejano music, while shouting a few gritos. He adored family, loved gatherings, and being surrounded by friends as he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his treasured grandparents and great-grandparents, Antonio DeLeon Jimenez, Jr., Herbert Carr, Jr., Barbarita Barba, Earnestine Duncan, Robert Dailey, W. C. Booker, Jealden Carr, Manual Barba, Sr., and Charlie Duncan.

J. T. is survived by his mother Maria Jimenez-Carr (Herbert Charles Carr “Pops”), his father Jeffery Theron Dailey, Sr., step-mother Lidia Dailey, siblings, Victoria Amanda Dailey-Scott (Darius), Jaylyn Dailey, Jocelyn Dailey, Sabeian Carr, Adrian Carr, Isaiah Carr, Daja Carr, Bryson Carr, his beloved grandmothers, Consuelo Barba-Jimenez and Wanda Booker-Craft, other relatives Devree Mallory, Tanisha Mallory, Clarence D.
