Jennie Vera Haley, 95, of Canyon, Randall County, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Jennie was born in Mineola, Wood County, Texas, to Reverend Island McKinley and Ethel Johnson Miller. She was a graduate of W. B. Clark High School in Quitman, Texas.
She was married to Ira Vernon Haley and to this union, four children were born, Otis M. Haley, Edward L. Haley, Edith M. Haley, and Charles Wayne Haley.
Ms. Haley worked at M. D. Anderson Hospital as a food dietician until she retired. She was a committed member of St. Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, for over 60 plus years. She served in the choir ministry and was faithful in the usher ministry for many years. Ms. Haley was a very caring person, she enjoyed traveling, loved the Lord, and loved serving at her church.
She leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory, a daughter, Edith M. Haley Raymond, a son, Charles Wayne Haley (Johnnie), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, relatives, and friends.
