Lynda Darnell Barnes

Lynda Darnell Barnes, 70, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

She was born in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas, to Ed Clinton and Salona Williams Barnes.

Ms. Barnes attended Hilltop Elementary School, Carver High School, and Palo Duro High School. After high school, she attended Amarillo College and Texas State Technical College and Design school.

She worked as a dietary cook at Panhandle Plains Hospice and retired from Vivian’s Nursing Home in 2018.

Lynda loved serving others. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended church at Cornerstone Worship Center. She was an avid reader, a professional student, and she loved the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Milam Barnes and Clint Barnes.

Lynda leaves to cherish her memory, a brother, Eddie Barnes of San Antonio, Texas, three sisters, Earlene Hall of Moreno Valley, California, Jerelene Barnes Allen of Dallas, Texas, and Barbara Williams of Riverside, California, two aunts, Grace Williams and Lillie Settles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
