Lynette Gardner, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.
Services were held at Warford-Walker Mortuary Rose Chapel with the Rev. James L. Collins officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Lynette Louise Gardner was born in Amarillo, Texas on December 20,1947 to Prince and Jewel Gardner.
Lynette attended Amarillo public schools and was a 1966 graduate of Carver High School. Following graduation she attended Draughon’s Business College and was employed by Blackburn’s clothing store.
Lynette was a life-long member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. She loved her church family and was in regular attendance until her health failed.
Before becoming ill, Lynette enjoyed talking on the phone and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed having “alone time,” watching movies and reading the newspaper. Lynette had a kind heart and loved her family. She will be missed.
Lynette was preceded in death by her parents, Prince and Jewel Gardner, grandparents Willie and Effie Gardner, James Ward, Secile Walker, and step-grand-father Tommie James Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers Donnie Gardner and wife Coretta of Amarillo, Dannie Gardner of Los Angeles, California, her beloved nieces Candace Moore of Dallas and Stacy Jones of Houston, a beloved nephew Nicholas Gardner of Dallas, favorite aunts Mrs. Maudie Jones and Mrs. Bessie Gardner Smith and husband H.B. Smith of Amarillo, also her loving uncles Manzell Gardner of Amarillo and Larence Gardner of Terrell, Texas and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
