Melvin Sjolie, 80, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2015.
Memorial services were held at Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Steve Martin officiating. Final disposition: Lighthouse Crematory. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Melvin Dale Sjolie was born August 6, 1935 to Alfred Melvin and Gladys Sjolie in Madison, Minnesota. He was an Army veteran from 1952 to 1954 serving in Korea. He later moved to Amarillo to be with his brother, Ruben. Melvin was a truck driver for several years for a rendering business. He met and married the love of his life, Thelma on April 22nd 1967. They shared 48 wonderful years. He is survived by 4 step-children, Kathleen Crandall (Ken), Jimmy Boydston (Kathy) Bonita Blakely (Dave) John Boydston (Tracy). Wife Thelma Sjolie of Amarillo, TX, 1 brother, Chuck Sjolie (Connie) of Florida. He has a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren in Minnesota and South Dakota.
