Nancy Lee (Willis) Clemons

Nancy Lee Clemons, 89, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born in Otto, Falls County, Texas, to Lee and Lula Lonzar Willis.

Nancy was a beacon of love, faith, and service throughout her life. Her early years were spent in Slaton, Texas, where she attended Slaton Public School. Nancy’s passion for helping others led her to Amarillo, Texas, where she continued her education in nursing at Amarillo College, becoming a licensed vocational nurse (LVN). She exemplified care and compassion in her career and personal life, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Being raised in a family of believers, Nancy found her spiritual home as a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, serving faithfully under the leadership of Reverend Spencer, Reverend Neal, and Reverend Morris Mitchell. Her unwavering faith guided her life and inspired those around her. Nancy’s life was enriched by her large, loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her second mother, Mable Willis, a brother, three sons, Paul, James, and Travis, a daughter, Toney, and granddaughter, LaQuita Younger.

Nancy leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Dianne Scott (Bruce) of Austin, Texas, two sons, Bobby Clemons (Lisha) of Austin, Texas, and Lance Clemons of Amarillo, Texas, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and twenty great-great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by a host of extended family, friends, and close relatives. Nancy Lee Clemons’ legacy of faith, love, and dedication to her family and community will forever be remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.
