Rosa Maria Rangel

Rosa Maria Rangel, 50, of Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Rosa Maria Rangel, who was tragically taken from us by a senseless act of gun violence.

Rosa, fondly known as “La Hermosa and Momma Rosa,” was born to Pablo Gonzales and Romelia Ruiz Rangel in Hereford, Deaf Smith County, Texas, on November 13, 1973.

She attended Palo Duro High School and received her General Educational Development (GED) Diploma. She also received a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification from an accredited program. After that, she attended Amarillo College and graduated with a surgical technician license in August 2003. Always striving for more, Rosa even obtained a commercial driving license. She was a “jack of all trades,” and a self-employed entrepreneur. She was on her way to achieving her dream of owning a successful business.

Rosa was a cherished sister, daughter, mother, aunt, and friend. She dedicated her life to her children CJ and Lala. Her bright spirit and kind heart touched everyone who knew her and her loss leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives. We will forever carry Rosa in our hearts and strive to keep her memory alive through our actions and love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pablo Gonzales Rangel, a son Matthew Ford, and a sister Paulina Rodriguez.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her son, Charles “CJ” Rangel, Jr., daughter, Erica Romelia “Lala” Ford, grandson, Malakhi Rangel, mother, Romelia Rangel, five sisters, Amelia Cantu, Elizabeth Sanchez, Monce Camacho, Teresa De Los Santos, and Zulema Pina, five brothers, Jose Antonio “Tony” Hernandez, Pablo Rangel, Isaac Rangel, Samuel Rangel, and Jacob Rangel, and a host of other relatives, and friends.
