Sharon Gilbreath, 54, died Friday, May 6, 2016.
Services were held at St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Harris, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Sharon Kay Gilbreath was born to Willie Jean Gilbreath who preceded her in death. The fourth out of seven children. She was born June 17, 1961 in Amarillo Texas.
Sharon's education consisted of attending Lee Bivins Elementary School, Austin Middle School and Tascosa High School where she graduated with the class of 1979. Shortly after she enrolled into Amarillo College to continue a higher education.
Sharon had a personality that was truly unique and special in every way. Her laughter was contagious, her smile was one of a kind, and we all know she could talk for days. One of her best qualities was that she always kept it real; she bit her tongue for no one including her kids. Sharon worked at Anderson Merchandisers where she was a devoted employee who had a drive and work ethic that was like no other. She was loved by many who encountered her and was an inspiration to all of her co-workers.
Sharon was a member of St. John Baptist Church, where the late Pastor Neal and now Pastor Harris now presides. She became a warrior for God's army with deep religious roots that were unbreakable. Even up to her homecoming she never wavered in her faith but relished every moment she with her loved ones. Sharon went home with the peace of knowing that her children and grandchildren knew God and had a relationship with him. That was all she had ever wanted and more than she could ever ask for. Her imprint on life was one that is rarely seen and she will live on through her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind a strong legacy in the form of her two sons, Antwan Gilbreath and Adrian Gilbreath and Nadia Hernandez, all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Zaria Jeter, Antwn Gilbreath Jr., Adrain Gilbreath Jr., London Gilbreath and Esme Gilbreath, all of Amarillo; her brothers, Aaron Gilbreath and wife Ruby of Amarillo, David Gilbreath and wife Anke of Neunkirchen, Germany, and Dwight Cleveland of Amarillo; her sisters, Sandra Gilbreath of Amarillo, Lynette Gilbreath of Amarillo and Ja’Nice Gilbreath of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
