Shawn Casey Samuel, 35, of Amarillo died Monday, April 13, 2015.
Services were held at Bell Avenue Church of Christ. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were held by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Shawn was born Oct. 15, 1979, in Amarillo to Preston and Velma Samuel. Shawn attended San Jacinto Elementary School, Margaret Wills Elementary School, Houston Middle School and Tascosa High School.
Shawn was an all-around athlete and broke many records in football and track. He also attended Trinity Valley Jr. College were he received a scholarship in football. He loved being in the studio making music with his brother Kamon. Shawn worked for Home Pride, Allied and a cleaning service.
He is preceded in death by a son, Fredrick Samuel; a brother, Reggie Simmons; grandparents, Nat and Billie Simmons, Preston Samuel, Sr.; great-grandparents, Jeff and Maud Samuel, Henry and Evie Williams, Dallas and Velma Wilson and Estelle Buckner
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Preston and Velma Samuel; a brother, Kamon and Linda Simmons; and a daughter, Catara Samuel, all of Amarillo; a grandmother, Fannie Adams of Amarillo, Texas. and niece Stormy Simmons of Arlington, Texas; two great nieces, Aaliyah and Devaniee Hernandez, of Amarillo, Texas. A host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
