Velma Rene Timmons, 83, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017. She was born in Frost, Texas, to the late James and Jimmie Hunt Beavers.
Mrs. Timmons was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jimmy Timmons, Jr. and one brother, Clyde Beavers. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Garnezar, Jr., Rebecca, Donald (Vanessa), William (Sherrie), Gregory (Pamela) and Fredrick. She is also survived by two sisters, Jessie Mae Price and Doris Martin, 21 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Timmons worked previously at Seafood Galley and Buns Over Texas, but spent much of her life raising her children and serving others. She was a faithful volunteer for Cornerstone Outreach for nearly 10 years. Mrs. Timmons gave her life to Christ at a young age. She has been a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church since 1981 and began serving as a Sunday School Teacher in 2007. Mrs. Timmons always had a kind and encouraging word, a warm hug and a loving smile. She will always be remembered for her commitment to her family and her unshakeable faith. She will be deeply missed forever.
