Velma K. Mason, 94, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.
Services were held at North Heights Church of Christ with Mariland Sims, minister, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Mrs. Mason was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Paris, Texas, to David and Leona Smith.
She was a longtime member of North Heights Church of Christ. She worked as a domestic for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Lola Smith, Verlie Smith, Bertha Runnels and Gertrude Giddens; a brother, Henry Paige; and a son, Dale Mason.
Survivors include four daughters, Myrl Betts, Pamela Russell and husband Gerald and Jo Ann Mason, all of Amarillo, and Jacque Monroe of Dallas; a son, Jimmie Dale Mason of Amarillo; her grandchildren, Rodney Betts of Amarillo, Michael Betts of Euless, Chad Bates, Lynette Russell, Darrell Mason, Nikki Mason, Courtney Hill and husband Justin, Monica Mason, Midland and Briteny Mason, all of Amarillo, Mariah Mason and Aalyiah Johnson, both of Houston, and Alquinette Mason, Kyler Monroe and Kelton Monroe, all of Arlington; 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
