Zetta Mae Riles, 57, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
Services were held at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, with Supt. Elijah B. Demerson, pastor, and Pastor Harry J. Williams officiating and Elisha L. Demerson as eulogist. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Warford-Walker Mortuary.
Zetta Mae Riles 57, Was born on October 22, 1957 in Memphis, Texas to Pink an Odessa Austin. She received her early education from Memphis ISD. Upon graduation she attended Clarendon College where she received her Associates Degree. There after she located to Denton, Texas where she she studied Library Science. She later moved back to Clarendon College to work in the Library Field. During this time she also owned and operated a bakery in Memphis, Texas In 1987 she relocated to Amarillo where she worked at the City of Amarillo, Amarillo Public Library. Moving up in rank she later became the head librarian of the North Branch Library, where she retired after 27 years of faithful service in June 2014. She served on several boards among one of those Community Link.
Zetta faithfully served in the church both locally and district setting. In the district she was Dean of Education, and the praise and worship team. At Emmaunel Temple COGIC under the leadership of Supt. E. L. Demerson she served as Singles President, Praise and Worship Team Member, Administrative Assistant of Finances, and Sunday School teacher for the high school class.
After her husband was appointed Pastor of the True Church of God in Christ, she served as First Lady, church secretary, youth director, praise and worship leader, and worked in all capacities wherever she was needed.
She was preceded in death by; her parents and three sisters; Vernell Scott, Margie Austin Montgomery,and Jewell Austin Houston.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her husband of 12 years Elder Jeff Riles Jr.; two stepdaughters, Totundra Grays of Dallas, Texas and Camile Riles of Amarillo, Texas; one granddaughter, Shambre Riles of Amarillo, Texas; three brothers, Willie Earl McDonald of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth Austin of Amarillo, Texas and Travis Austin and wife Cindy of Denton, Texas; and three sisters, Cleola Johnson and Robbie Jackson of Memphis, Texas; Her twin sister, Etta Austin of Reno, Nevada. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, In-laws and cherished friends.
