Barclay Benard Obituary

Barclay Benard, 93, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Mr. Benard was born in Como, Texas, to Bee Moil and Estella Wanda Waddleton Benard.

Mr. Benard served his country in the United States Navy from September 18, 1945, to June 21, 1946, and in the United States Army from September 28, 1950, to August 13, 1952.

He also worked for Southwestern Public Service Company (now Xcel Energy) as a mail carrier and retired with 33 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alga Faye Brinkly Benard, three sisters, Orbree Dixon, Murtie Bee Fletcher, and May Willie Lovingood, and a brother, Gaston Keto Benard.

Barclay leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Marilyn Ann Benard Mills, Terry Lemons, Donnise Richardson, Angela Renee Richardson, and Lonette Richardson, his siblings, Jim Benard and Pinkie McGill, thirteen grandchildren, John Mills, LaKesha Mills, Alphonso Mills, Tyra Lemons, Tori Lemons, Shasha Richardson, Kimberly Mitchell, Brodrick Davis, James Bradley, Tremaine Richardson, Michael Richard, Faleta Stevenson, Shalamaar Walker, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
