Daryl was born in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas to Sam and Eloise Harris Hodge.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a cousin, Nona Ann Terry of Amarillo, Texas, and a niece, Yolanda Walford Parks of Chicago, Illinois.
