Obituary
Howard D. “Dewitt” Scott, 72, of Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.
He was born in Mineral, Palo Pinto County, Texas, to Margaret Ross.
Dewitt attended North Heights Elementary and Carver Junior and Senior High School. He graduated from Amarillo High School with the Class of 1969. While at Amarillo High School, he was an excellent player on the baseball team. He spent some time at Ranger Junior College, and West Texas State University, now West Texas A&M University.
He was employed for many years with the Santa Fe Railway, now the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad as a conductor.
Dewitt was preceded in death by his mother and a daughter, Shamika Scott.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory, his special friend and brother, Marvin Martin (Marilyn), and a special friend Ms. Linda Agada, the Class of 1969, and a host of other friends.
