John Red, III Obituary

John Edward Red, III, 20, of Amarillo, Randall County, Texas, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

He was born in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, to Tahise Thibodeaux and John Edward Red, Jr.

John has been a member of Greater Love Temple Ministries since birth. He attended Tascosa High School where he was a phenomenal athlete. Later he attended Amarillo College to obtain a General Educational Development (GED) Diploma and to become a welder.

John also had a passion to be a dog breeder. He was a prankster and a smooth talker (so he thought). He was a big guy with a big heart to match. John had an angelic smile and was a shoulder to cry on. He had an uplifting spirit and was always concerned about family and friends. He spread love and happiness everywhere he went. He will truly be missed by the people close to him.

John was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Christine Turner, maternal uncle, Theron Hughes, and maternal aunt, Vickie Turner.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Tahise Thibodeaux, and her husband, Stormy Thibodeaux of Amarillo, Texas, his father John Edward Red, Jr., of Amarillo, Texas, two brothers, Nehemiah Red and Kyrone Red of Amarillo, Texas, four sisters, Taunshea King of Dallas, Texas, Tynasja Red of Amarillo, Texas, Elise Gonzalez of Boise City, Oklahoma, and Nyleah Red of Amarillo, Texas, Aunt Tavonne Witherspoon of Hobbs, New Mexico, three uncles, Earl (Marie) Henderson of Stockton, California, Lafayette Witherspoon of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Michael Riles, of Amarillo, Texas, maternal grandfather, L. D. Turner, Jr., of Amarillo, Texas, and a host of great aunts and uncles, family and friends.
